Tonight’s training our dept. trained on off-road rescues with our UTV. We set up several scenarios behind our station. As we have three boy scout camps in our township that we respond to for both fire and ems calls, our first scenario was for a boy scout with a fractured leg in the woods off of a trail. Our members worked on communication skills, patient assessment and extracting a patient from the woods in a stokes basket.
Our second scenario was of a unconscious logger pinned under a tree that had just been cut. We utilized our air bags and cribbing in this scenario to lift the tree off the patient then extract and transport on a stokes basket to our UTV and then out of the woods
