Tuesday at 5:47pm our dept. was dispatched to a report of a fire under a residence on Lake Thompson Rd. Pelican and Stella Fire dept.’s were also dispatched as automatic aid along with Rhinelander Fire’s RIT team. While enroute to our station we were notified that the residence we were responding to was one of our members. Engine 2 arrived on scene to heavy smoke through out the structure with fire starting to breach a bedroom window. Firefighters made an aggressive exterior attack knocking the fire down before entering the house to extinguish the fire. Firefighters were on scene for 2.5 hours ventilating smoke from the house and checking for hotspots. The structure suffered moderate damage.
Oneida County Ambulance and Sheriff’s Dept. also assisted us on scene
